A man who was fatally shot at the end of a police pursuit in Vacaville earlier this week has been identified.
Mark Meza, 61, of Woodland was shot several times at the end of a police chase on Tuesday moments after he allegedly rammed a police car along Davis Street.
The chase started when a Vacaville patrol officer spotted Meza driving his Dodge pick-up truck on the law next to City Hall during a city council meeting.
The pursuit wound through several city streets before it ended in a volley of gunshots near the Sonic Drive-In restaurant along Davis Street.
Meza died at the scene. His identity was first reported on Thursday by the Vacaville Reporter newspaper.
A police officer involved in the chase was transported to an area hospital with shortness of breath and minor pain, according to police officials.
The Solano County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
