The suspect who was involved in a police pursuit that ended with a shooting in Vacaville has died from their injuries.
Solano NewsNet was the first to report on the pursuit and shooting that started near City Hall on Tuesday.
Around 8:30 p.m., a patrol officer witnessed a pick-up truck driving on the grass at the municipal complex, which also includes the Vacaville Police Department’s headquarters.
The driver failed to yield when the officer tried to pull him over. A chase began that wound through Alamo Drive, Merchant Street and Davis Street.
At one point, the suspect reportedly rammed a patrol car involved in the chase, according to dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
Before the driver could enter the freeway, officers opened fire. The driver, who has not been identified, later died from their injuries.
Traffic is closed in the area of the Sonic Drive-In restaurant on Davis Street.
