One person has been shot at the end of a police chase in Vacaville.
The chase started around 8:30 p.m. after a patrol officer spotted a pick-up truck on the grass in front of City Hall during a regularly-scheduled city council meeting.
The driver took off when police attempted to pull over the truck. At one point during the chase, the suspect reportedly rammed a patrol car, according to dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
Officers opened fire on the vehicle as it started to enter Interstate 80 near the Sonic restaurant, dispatches said.
One person was reported “down” in the car, and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Their condition is unknown. No officers were injured in the incident.
The road is closed to traffic in the area.
