Exclusive: Eyewitness video shows end of Vacaville pursuit
New eyewitness video obtained by Solano NewsNet shows the moment a police chase ended in a volley of gunshots on Tuesday in Vacaville.
The video shows officers fired at least a dozen times toward a white pick-up truck that was involved in an incident near City Hall.
The chase started after a patrol officer noticed the truck driving on the grass in front of the municipal complex, according to dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
At one point during the pursuit, an intervention maneuver was attempted to bring the chase to an end. Instead, the suspect reportedly rammed the officer’s vehicle and continued the chase, the dispatches showed.
The chase ended near a fast food restaurant along Davis Street when police fired at least a dozen shots into the pick-up truck.
An ambulance was dispatched to the scene a short time later. The suspect died from his injuries. His identity was not known as of Wednesday morning.
