Vacaville police make arrest in jewelry store robbery
Jason Greenwald, 47, was arrested after stealing $300,000 in merchandise from a jewelry store at the Premium Outlets.
The Vacaville Police Department said this week it had made an arrest in a case involving the theft of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a jewelry store in early October.
Jason Greenwald, 47, is accused of stealing more than $300,000 in merchandise during an October 14 robbery at the Kay Jeweler’s store in Vacaville.
During the robbery, police say Greenwald stabbed a store employee in the arm. The employee was treated at a hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.
Detectives investigating the case soon learned Greenwald was their primary suspect, the agency said. It was later discovered Greenwald had fled to Nevada, where he was located earlier this week on a Native American reservation.
Officials say Greenwald was arrested and brought back to Solano County where he was booked into jail on charges of robbery, assualt and violation of parole.
The California Department of Corrections, Reno-Tahoe Safe Streets Task Force and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police were commended by Vacaville police for their assistance in the investigation.
