The Suisun City Fire Department is investigating a two-alarm house fire that displaced two local residents over the weekend.
Solano NewsNet was the first to report on the house fire that broke out along Cordelia Road on Saturday.
Around 2:15 p.m., fire dispatchers received an emergency call from residents inside the home. Two people were evacuated safely from the home and treated by nearby medical crews as a precaution.
Firefighters took a defensive approach to the fire for nearly an hour. At one point, the roof of the home collapsed inward, according to dispatches.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, but preliminary information learned by Solano NewsNet points to a candle that caught a mattress on fire.
The Suisun City Fire Department says it was assisted by fire crews from nearby Fairfield, Vacaville and Rio Vista. A crew from Travis Air Force Base provided assistance in the form of station coverage for Suisun City.
No one was injured in the fire.
