Fire crews in Suisun City are cleaning up the aftermath of a two-alarm house fire that broke out on Saturday.
Around 2:15 p.m., fire dispatchers received a call about a possible structure fire along the 500 block of Cordelia Road.
A Suisun City police officer was the first to arrive on the scene and reported thick, black smoke billowing from the back of the home. By the time firefighters arrived a few minutes later, the house was fully-engulfed in flames.
Fire crews took a defensive position for more than a half-hour, battling the flames along with gas and power lines. At one point, firefighters maneuvered to nearby Line Street where flames spread to a backyard shed of an adjacent home.
At least two people were treated by medical crews for unknown injuries. The American Red Cross and the Salvation Army assisted with disaster relief operations.
The cause of the fire has yet to be formally determined, but dispatchers received an initial report that it was caused by a mattress falling on a candle.
