Power outage hits Elmira, rural Vacaville, likely from fire

Around 300 people are currently without electricity in portions of rural Vacaville, an outage that was likely caused by a nearby grass fire earlier this afternoon.
At 3 p.m., Pacific Gas & Electric Company officials reported the power outage covering all of the unincorporated community of Elmira and extending into other areas around Hay Road and Lewis Road in rural Vacaville.
PG&E has not yet provided an estimated time of restoration to the residents and businesses affected by the blackout.
The outage was likely caused by downed power lines along Hay Road that sparked a 100-foot grass fire just before 2:45 p.m. on Monday. Fire officials have contained the blaze, and a crew with PG&E is working to repair infrastructure at the scene.
