Fire breaks out in rural Vacaville, possibly from downed power line

Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire in rural Vacaville that caused a brief power outage on Monday.
The fire was reported just before 2:45 p.m. along the 5600 block of Hay Road.
A fire crew dispatched to the scene reported around 100 feet of fire on both sides of the road as well as a downed power line in the area. A PG&E crew was sent to repair the infrastructure.
The California Highway Patrol provided traffic control through the area while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze. A brief power outage was reported affecting 300 customers in Elmira, rural Vacaville and portions of nearby Travis Air Force Base.
