A man who led police on a brief pursuit that ended with a crash near a church in Vacaville last week has been identified.
Adesola Ken Kehinde, 34, was arrested during a prostitution sting operation carried out by local police and the Solano County Sheriff’s Office at a motel on Orange Drive.
Kehinde never showed up to the motel, but he exchanged messages with a decoy that led police to the parking lot of a nearby hardware store. When officers went to confront the suspect, he attempted to flee.
Police gave chase, and the suspect crashed his vehicle near a church on Leisure Town Road. He tried to escape on foot, only to be caught in the field of an abandoned golf course near Yellowstone Drive. Officers later found a loaded handgun in the vehicle; the firearm was not registered to Kehinde.
Kehinde remains in the Solano County jail on a slew of charges ranging from pimping to firearms-related offenses. He was also charged with violating the terms of his parole in a separate case. Kehinde is expected to appear in court on February 9.
The Vacaville sting operation was one of two orchestrated by local police and the sheriff’s office in Solano County last week. A similar undercover operation was conducted at a hotel in Fairfield earlier in the week, according to a source.
