One arrested at end of police pursuit in Vacaville

A sting operation in Vacaville resulted in a brief police pursuit that ended with a crash along Leisure Town Road on Thursday.

The pursuit began around 8:30 p.m. as officers were confronting a suspect near a hardware store on Orange Drive, according to dispatches. (Solano NewsNet is not revealing details about the sting operation.).

The suspect fled from the parking lot, and a chase ensued down Orange Drive and Leisure Town Road. About five minutes later, the suspect crashed his vehicle near the Mission Church and fled from the scene on foot. He was captured in the field of a closed golf course a short time later.

A passenger in the pursued vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash, and a portion of Leisure Town Road was closed for a short time while officers processed the crash scene.
