A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in Fairfield.
On Wednesday, Fairfield police said Erick John Fredericks was taken into custody in connection with a March 20 homicide.
Early that morning, police were called to a business along Travis Boulevard after a witness discovered a man bleeding from a severe cut to his throat.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
Police have not released the specific information that led them to Fredericks, but did say the man was arrested on suspicion of murder. A murder charge requires an intention to kill another person in order to secure a conviction, and is different from a manslaughter charge, where no intent or premeditation is required.
