City officials in Fairfield have once again ordered the full closure of several parks and open spaces due to dangerous wildfire weather conditions.
The closures were issued after weather forecasters issued a Red Flag Warning for all of Solano County, with dry conditions and gusty winds elevating wildfire dangers in the region.
The parks and open spaces affected by the closures include:
Rockville Hills Regional Park (2149 Rockville Road)
Spyglass Open Space (between Waterman Boulevard and Nephi Drive)
Serpas Ranch Open Space (Sanctuary Circle)
Rolling Hills Open Space (between Hillborn Road and Lyons Road)
No information was available as to when the parks or open space will re-open to the public, though they typically become available once a weather warning lapses. The current Red Flag Warning is set to expire Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Members of the public who have questions about the park closures are asked to contact the Fairfield Fire Department’s Deputy Chief John Sturdee at 707-249-4809.
