The victim of a fatal shooting at a home in Suisun City last week has been identified by multiple sources as a former U.S. Air Force technician who most recently worked for a Bay Area construction company.
Korbyn Kelly, 33, died from injuries sustained in a shooting at his home along Gray Hawk Lane last Friday, according to several friends who spoke with Solano News Update on condition of anonymity.
Originally from Alabama, Kelly served in the United States Air Force for more than a decade, working in various special operations and human resource roles. His last duty station was Travis Air Force Base, a military installation near Fairfield.
Kelly left the Air Force last year to work for a construction company in the Bay Area, according to two friends who were close with him.
Kelly’s identity has not been formally confirmed by the Suisun City Police Department. The Solano County Coroner’s Office has declined to release his name, citing a confidential record.
Police were dispatched to Kelly’s home late Friday evening after a person reported another individual armed with a gun. Dispatchers later learned the caller was the alleged gunman in the incident.
Kelly was declared dead at the scene from his injuries. A second individual, identified by sources as Stanley Freeman, sustained a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment; his condition was not immediately available as of Tuesday evening.
Police are still investigating a motive for the shooting and have asked members of the public with information about the case to contact detectives in Suisun City at 707-421-7373.
