Police are still investigating a motive behind a shooting last weekend that left one person dead and another person injured.
The Solano County Coroner’s Office has refused to release information about the shooting suspect in the case, citing protected records related to the incident, according to a local newspaper report. But a source familiar with the investigation identified the victim in the case as Stanley Freeman, who continues to receive medical treatment for an injury sustained in the shooting.
On Friday, police were dispatched to a residence along the 1200 block of Gray Hawk Lane after a person called in a report of a man with a firearm who was threatening to shoot another person. The caller later turned out to be the shooting suspect, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound as police arrived on the scene.
Freeman, the victim in the case, sustained a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken by ambulance to North Bay hospital where he received medical treatment. His condition was unknown as of Monday afternoon and it was not clear if police had an opportunity to question the man about what happened.
Police continue to interview several people who were inside the home at the time of the shooting. According to police dispatches reviewed by Solano News Update, more than a dozen people were inside the residence when the shooting took place.
Some residents of the house are airmen from neighboring Travis Air Force Base, according to a source. It was not clear if the shooter or their victim were also enlisted at the military base.
