For the second time in less than a month, rescuers were dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle into a canal and a trapped driver.
Around 6 a.m. Monday, firefighters were dispatched to a canal along Allendale Road in rural Dixon for a report of a sedan into the water.
When they arrived, they found the sedan upside-down in the canal and the motorist trapped inside.
A water rescue was successfully executed, and the driver only suffered from minor injuries, authorities said.
It was the second water rescue involving a submerged vehicle this month. On March 9, a similar water rescue took place along Hawkins Road in which the driver of a crossover vehicle had to be rescued after crashing into a canal there.
