The National Weather Service’s office in Sacramento has issued another Freeze Warning starting early Tuesday morning, the second consecutive warning issued this week.
Unlike Monday morning’s warning, however, this one covers all of Solano County and is expected to bring even colder temperatures compared to the previous one.
Meteorologists with the weather agency say overnight temperatures could dip below freezing, with rural areas of Northern California reaching as low as 25 degrees.
The Freeze Warning starts Tuesday morning at 1 a.m. and lasts until 8 a.m.
Like Monday’s warning, Tuesday’s freeze is expected to impact sensitive crops and livestock. Forecasters are urging people to bring in plants and pets where possible and ensure livestock that are normally kept outdoors have adequate shelter and warmth overnight.
A forecast discussion posted by the National Weather Service late Monday evening said seasonably cold temperatures are expected to remain throughout Northern California for the rest of the week. A chance of rain in possible closer to the weekend, the weather agency said.
While rain is likely in the Sacramento valley on Friday, snow is expected in the Sierra as early as Thursday, forecasters said. The snow could impact weekend travel through the mountains.
