A car fire in the Delta District kept firefighters in Rio Vista busy overnight — just one of several car fires that have broken out in that area in recent weeks.
The latest fire was reported on Twitchell Island and Brannon Island Road, fire officials announced in an early-morning public statement.
Fire officials said the vehicle looked like it had been burning for a while when the first fire crew arrived on the scene.
No one was spotted in the area at the time of the fire. The blaze was contained, and the scene was turned over to the California Highway Patrol for investigation.
Earlier this month, fire officials were dispatched to a similar car fire burning along Highway 160 near Highway 12. The same car was lit on fire twice in what officials believe may have been a case of arson, Solano NewsNet reported.
It was not clear if the two incidents were linked.
