Woman randomly attacks student walking to school in Fairfield
A person matching the description of the suspect was arrested at a local park shortly after the attack.

A Fairfield woman was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly attacked a child who was walking to school.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. when Fairfield police received a call from a 12-year-old student who reported being struck by the woman as she was walking in the area of Dover Avenue and East Tabor Avenue.
The student did not suffer any major injuries as a result of the assault.
A short time after the incident, police received another call of a similar assault near a convenience store on East Travis Boulevard near Dover Park. The suspect information for both calls were similar, and a woman matching the suspect’s description was located and arrested.
The identity of the woman was not available as of Thursday morning, and a police spokesperson has not yet returned a message seeking additional information.
