A pharmacy in Winters that has been in business for more than three decades is closing up shop.
For 32 years, patients have stopped by Eagle Drug on the corner of Main Street to pick up their prescriptions and other non-medical items like snacks, drinks and household goods.
Eagle Drug was the only business offering local prescription fills and pick-ups in Winters. Those who pick up medication at Eagle Drug will have their prescriptions transferred to the CVS Pharmacy in neighboring Dixon.
News of the closure was first reported by the Winters Express newspaper on Wednesday.
An independent pharmacy called Corner Drug has offered to deliver medications to Winters residents if they transfer prescriptions to their store in Woodland instead. The service is free during the COVID-19 pandemic and will cost $5 per delivery once normal business services resume.
Eagle Drug is one of several small businesses to close up shop in Winters since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
