A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service office in Sacramento for northern portions of Solano County starting Monday morning.
The advisory covers Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield and rural areas around those cities.
Starting Monday morning around 6 a.m., the weather service says south to southwest wind between 15 to 30 miles per hour will be experienced, with localized gusts up to 45 miles per hour at times.
The advisory lasts until 8 p.m. but could be extended based on weather conditions. The warning also covers portions of Yolo and Sacramento counties.
Meteorologists say commuters who are expected to drive during the advisory should use extra caution, especially if they are operating a high profile vehicle like a semi truck.
Forecasters also urge people to secure loose objects like tents and outdoor umbrellas that could be blown around by unusually gusty wind.
