Officers with the Vallejo Police Department seized a cache of weapons, drugs and creepy Halloween masks during a traffic stop earlier this week.
In a press release sent to reporters, the agency said officers attempted to pull over a vehicle along Sereno Drive in the early morning hours of October 11. When police turned on their lights and sirens, the driver fled from them, blowing through a red traffic light and leading officers on a chase through the city.
A PIT maneuver successfully brought the chase to an end, Vallejo police said. Both the driver and the passenger were detained. They were later identified as 30-year-old Terrell Elbert and 31-year-old Terrance Elbert, both of Vallejo.
A search of the vehicle turned up the likely reason why both men attempted to flee from officers: Police say they found drugs, firearms and Halloween masks inside the car. An unregistered Glock-style pistol and an AR-15 style weapon were among those seized from the car.
The Vallejo Police Department said it was assisted by a California Highway Patrol air vehicle during the chase and subsequent stop.
