Vallejo police investigating early morning shooting
A Vallejo resident died from injuries sustained in a shooting early Sunday morning.

The Vallejo Police Department has launched a murder investigation after a resident was fatally shot early Sunday morning.
Around 4 a.m., Vallejo police officers responded to a report of a shooting along the 1900 block of Ascot Parkway, according to a press release sent to reporters.
When they arrived, police located a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were attempted but the victim died from his injuries at the scene, police say.
Crime scene investigators processed the scene throughout the morning and have taken over the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vallejo Police Department at 707-648-4533 or 707-648-4531.
The Vallejo Police Department said Sunday’s shooting is the city’s 23rd murder this year.
