Vallejo police say a 40-year-old man is in custody after he fatally shot another person over the weekend, then apparently remained on the scene until police arrived.
The shooting happened Sunday evening near a business along the 1400 block of Solano Avenue.
Police say Daniel Juarez-Flores was sitting in a parked car with a 46-year-old man when he opened fire on the other occupant for unknown reasons.
Juarez-Florez remained on the scene after the shooting and was taken into custody without incident, a police spokesperson said. A firearm was recovered near the scene of the incident.
Officers are not sure why Juarez-Flores allegedly shot the other person, and the matter remains open for investigation.
Anyone with information about the situation is asked to contact the Vallejo Police Department at 707-648-4342 or 707-648-5430.
