A Vacaville Police K-9 helped officers bust two residents on drug and firearms-related offenses on Wednesday, the agency said in a social media post.
Around 9 p.m., a detective spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area of Vine Street. After approaching the vehicle and finding evidence of recent drug use, the detective requested a police K-9 to the scene, the agency said.
“K-9 Scout was quick to answer the call and lend his superior sniffing skills to the investigation,” the police department wrote. “After a few passes around the car, K-9 Scout alerted on the odor of narcotics.”
One of the suspects was later found to be in possession of illegal drugs, and a continued search of the car turned up a loaded firearm, the agency said.
Kierstyn Campos, 26, and 29-year-old Guy Bass were arrested on various drug and gun charges. Bass also received a charge of being a felon in possession of a gun.
