A Vacaville oral surgeon was quietly charged with a misdemeanor crime last year after one of his dentistry patients accused him of sexual abuse.
The number of accusations against Dr. David Webb has grown to four since then, with the allegations substantiated enough by the Solano County District Attorney’s Office to warrant multiple misdemeanor charges against the Vacaville practitioner.
The charges were first reported Wednesday by Sacramento TV station KCRA (Channel 3), which said it spoke with a number of patients who accused Webb of various acts of sexual abuse.
One patient, identified as a 50-year-old woman, reportedly told the TV station that she was molested while having bridge work done; another said Webb engaged in a sexually-explicit conversation that included details about his sex life.
Webb’s office, which operates under the fictitious name Northern California Facial and Oral Surgery, is located in a business park on Alamo Drive in Vacaville. A website associated with the business was pulled from the Internet earlier this week, just before KCRA’s report was set to air on television.
No one answered the phone at a number listed for the business when Solano NewsNet attempted to reach Webb on Thursday. A lawyer representing Webb told KCRA that their client plead not guilty to an initial misdemeanor charge last December, and would do so again next month when an additional charge is added to the case, adding that Webb denies all the charges against him.
In addition to the criminal case, a lawyer representing two of Webb’s former patients has initiated a civil suit that is connected to the allegations.
Webb is still licensed to practice dentistry in California.
