A Vacaville real estate attorney appeared in court this week after being charged with numerous child sex crimes.
James Haskell, 40, was arrested by deputies with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office last Tuesday after a judge issued a felony warrant for his detention.
Haskell entered a not guilty plea last week and was released on bond. As part of his release conditions, he was ordered not to have contact with at least four minors, according to court records reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
The charges outlined in court records accuse Haskell of pushing a 10-year-old child, then kicking him repeatedly. The charge is a misdemeanor, though he faces several felonies as well, including two counts of sexual penetration on unconscious victims, one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object on a person under the age of 16, and one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object on a person under the age of 18.
On Tuesday, Haskell appeared with his defense attorney in court and waived his right to a reading of the charges. He is scheduled to appear in court again next month.
Haskell works as an estate attorney with the Reynolds Law Firm, which has offices in Vacaville and Fairfield. A biography on the Reynolds Law Firm website says he volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, the Will C. Wood High School Pep Squad, the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Vacaville.
His legal clients include law enforcement officers and teachers, his online biography says. It was not clear if the alleged victims were connected to his work or his volunteer activities.
