The Vacaville Fire Department will not proceed with the second part of a planned burn on Callen Hill this week.
In an e-mail to Solano NewsNet on Wednesday, Vacaville Fire Department Chief Kris Concepcion said the training burn that was scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
The change was made several hours after weather forecasters issued a Red Flag Warning for all of Solano County. The warning was triggered based on a forecast of heat, low humidity and gusty wind up to 40 miles per hour in the Sacramento Valley.
Forecasters say any wildfires that start during the Red Flag Warning period could spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended during the alert period, which begins Thursday morning and ends Friday evening.
