Firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians in Vacaville have started receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, according to officials.
The announcement was made in a social media post on Monday.
Several firefighters and paramedics received the first of two doses of the Pfizer-developed vaccine at North Bay Medical Center, fire officials said.
Officials with the Solano County Public Health agency helped coordinate the administration of the vaccine.
Under the state’s distribution guidelines, first responders and other front-line health and emergency workers are among some of the first in California to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Those who receive the first dose of the vaccine must still carry out social distancing and other COVID-19 protection measures for several weeks until a second dose is administered.
