Vacaville Christian School teacher fired over alleged misconduct

An educator with a private school in Vacaville has been fired over allegations that they engaged in sexual conduct with a former student, among other malfeasance.
The incident stems from a lengthy investigation conducted by Vacaville Christian School after a strong allegation was made against the educator, according to a concerned parent who reached out to Solano NewsNet over the weekend.
The investigation started last month after an individual reached out to school officials with a complaint of sexual misconduct against a music teacher. Other allegations, including inappropriate communications, were levied against the teacher, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Solano NewsNet is not naming the educator at the center of the investigation because they have not been charged with a crime.
The school hired an independent auditor to conduct a thorough review of the teacher’s background and the allegations made against them, according to letters sent to parents and reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
Earlier this month, parents were invited to participate in a meeting with school officials about the findings of the investigation. One parent, who asked not to be identified, complained that the school gave them only a few hours of notice.
During the meeting, parents were told that an investigator had substantiated some claims against the teacher, including an allegation that the educator had masturbated with a former student.
“[School] leadership reported multiple allegations of inappropriate conduct with minors, including the substantiated allegations of inappropriate circumstances of a sexual nature with students occurring over a number of years, to law enforcement,” a letter sent to parents read.
School administrators reportedly told parents that they were unable to pursue criminal charges because the statute of limitations covering some allegations had expired. A police spokesperson later confirmed the same information when approached by a local newspaper reporter earlier this week.
Administrators closed their letter to parents by asking for prayers.

One parent who reached out to Solano NewsNet said it was the second incident involving an educator at the school who was accused of sexual misconduct. In 2017, a school administrator was abruptly fired after an independent investigation substantiated allegations of sexual misconduct during his employment with another academy in the 1980s.
Parents now say they want the school to be more transparent about what happened with the prior two educators and their response going forward.
“The teachers are amazing, the faculty has been great with all my kids that attend the school, but [school] board leadership has always been very questionable and secretive,” one parent, who asked not to be identified, complained in an e-mail to Solano NewsNet.
A message sent through the school’s website seeking comment and additional information has not been returned as of Tuesday evening.
