Fire investigators are working to determine the cause behind a wildfire that proved tough to contain on Tuesday.
The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. along the 6000 block of Pleasants Valley Road in rural Vacaville.
At one point, county emergency officials issued a sweeping evacuation order for homes and businesses in portions of rural Vacaville and Fairfield, some of which had fallen under a previous evacuation order during last year’s LNU Lightning Complex wildfire.
Vacaville officials briefly ordered the evacuation of homes along Wykoff Drive within the city, but those orders were lifted within minutes.
County evacuation orders were reversed about an hour after they were issued. No structures were destroyed or damaged, and there were no injuries, according to a fire official.
The location of the fire proved to be a challenge for firefighters, with access limited due to the steep terrain and lack of roads. Despite this, crews from throughout the county and CAL FIRE managed to get the fire contained by around 12:30 p.m.
By the time the fire was brought under control, around 30 acres had burned, according to a fire official. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and fire investigators are currently working to determine what happened.
