Two people were injured during a rally for justice in front of the Vacaville Police Department’s headquarters on Saturday.
A group of protesters began organizing around 10 a.m. Saturday at the police station near City Hall. A short time later, a handful of counter-protesters showed up, vocalizing their support for the police department and President Donald Trump.
A business owner in the area described the scene as “one of the loudest I’ve ever heard.”
Around noon, a small scuffle broke out near the protest on Lovers Lane. At least two people were injured during the confrontation. The extent of their injuries were unknown.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but it was not clear if anyone was transported to the hospital.
Protesters and counter-protesters continued to hold rallies in front of the police department as of 1 p.m.
