Traffic backs up after serious crash on I-80 in Vacaville

A crash involving a flipped sedan caused a serious traffic headache for morning commuters in Vacaville on Monday.
The crash was reported around 8:30 a.m. along the two “fast” lanes of eastbound Interstate 80 near the Peña Adobe Drive on-ramp.
A sedan reportedly lost control on the freeway and flipped, coming to a rest on its roof. One person had to be extricated from the vehicle and suffered an injury to their leg, according to fire dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
The California Highway Patrol issued a brief SIG Alert because the crash was blocking two lanes of the freeway.
The crash was cleared around 9:30 a.m., though residual traffic remained slow through the morning.
