Traffic: J-Mack Ferry out of service, alternate travel advised

The J-Mack Ferry that shuttles motorists along a stretch of Highway 220 will be out of service on Tuesday.
The ferry will be unavailable from noon Tuesday until midnight Wednesday, officials with the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) said in a statement.
No reason was given as to why the ferry would be unavailable for motorists. The J-Mack Ferry serves as a transit link between Ryer Island and Hoard Landing and is considered an extension of Highway 220.
Drivers are encouraged to use the Real McCoy II Ferry along Highway 84 to the south as an alternate while the J-Mack Ferry is out of service, CalTrans said. The Miner’s Slough Bridge along Highway 84 to the north is also available as an alternate route.
