Three people have been arrested on various murder charges in connection with the gruesome discovery of a man’s body in Dixon on Tuesday
Officials with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office said the three individuals — Mynard Simpson, Nicole Samosa and Amani Jones — were responsible for the death of 19-year-old Daniel “Danny” Trask of Oakland.
Early Tuesday morning, a Solano County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop along West Dixon Avenue. During the stop, an eyewitness alerted the deputy to a body that was in a ditch near a food processing warehouse.
The road was closed for several hours while deputies and detectives processed the scene of the crime.
Information gathered during the investigation led police to the trio, who were located in Placer County late Wednesday evening.
“Each person was interviewed, and search warrants were served for both the vehicle and the primary suspect’s residence,” a Solano County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said in a statement.
Simpson was arrested on suspicion of murder, while the other two suspects were arrested on charges of being accessories to a murder, the sheriff’s office said.
Police say the killing was not connected to Solano County, and “there is no threat to local residents.”
