A teenager was transported to a hospital on Wednesday after being shot in the stomach near a park in Vallejo, Solano NewsNet has learned.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. near the 2300 block of Sonoma Boulevard near Ohio Street.

A 14-year-old was located by police with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and was responsive, according to information published by citizen journalist Sean West, who was the first to report on the shooting.

No suspect information was available as of Wednesday evening.
