A Solano County teenager is spending the week in juvenile hall after he allegedly led police on a wild pursuit through parts of Fairfield, Vacaville and Dixon over the weekend.
The incident started late Saturday evening when California Highway Patrol officers spotted a stolen Acura sedan driving along Interstate 80 near Waterman Boulevard.
When the CHP attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver took off, leading police on a chase that spanned three cities.
The chase eventually reached Midway Road near Dixon where officers were waiting for the driver with a spike strip. The car drove over the strip, puncturing at least one tire and disabling the Acura.
A search of the vehicle turned up a stolen handgun, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The 16-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and booked into Solano County juvenile hall on a variety of felony charges. His identity was not released due to his age.
