Newly-released surveillance video shows a robbery and shooting at a Vallejo convenience store that left one person in critical condition earlier this week.
Late Tuesday evening, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery in progress at the Dollar Plus and Party Supplies store on Sonoma Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from gunshot wounds.
The person, later identified by family members as store owner Marc Quidit, was airlifted to a trauma hospital where they remain in critical condition. Family members say he is expected to survive the attack. His wife, Nina, re-opened the store on Wednesday, less than a full day after the shooting, the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper reported.
The surveillance video, first obtained and published by KNTV (Channel 11), shows exactly what took place inside the store that night: Two masked robbers carrying firearms walk into the retailer with the intent on robbing it.
Quidit, who was vacuuming a rug at the time, doesn’t appear to confront the robbers during the siege. For unknown reasons, one suspect opens fire on Quidit, striking him several times.
Police say they have not yet identified any suspects involved in the robbery and shooting at the store, and the matter remains under investigation.
