The Suisun City Police Department is asking eyewitnesses to come forward after a fatal shooting over the weekend.
The shooting was reportedly early Sunday morning along the 1400 block of Hammond Lane. Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report that a shooting victim was critically injured.
When they arrived, officers located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Police are investigating the incident as a possible suicide based on evidence that was collected at the scene, but that determination has not been made conclusive.
(As part of our editorial policy, Solano NewsNet does not typically report on actual or attempted suicides, except where there exists public safety concerns or a request for information from law enforcement for assistance from the community.)
Police did not identify the deceased individual by name or gender, but a friend with knowledge of the incident identified him as Tyler Figueroa, a Solano County resident in his 20s. He was engaged and had a two-year-old child with his fiancée, the friend said.
Anyone with information about what happened is urged to contact the Suisun City Police Department at 1-707-421-7373.
