What started as an investigation of a domestic disturbance between family members escalated into a manhunt in Suisun City late Wednesday evening.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers received a call of a man who had allegedly pointed a shotgun at his father’s head during a dispute at the Walmart Supercenter along Walters Road.

By the time police responded, the man had fled the scene by walking down Walters Road toward East Tabor Avenue.
Officers conducted a search of the area and located 28-year-old Manuel Godinez at a gas station near the intersection of the two streets. When police tried to confront Godinez, he took off from them, eventually ditching the shotgun behind a sound wall, according to dispatches.

Police eventually caught up with Godinez and took him into custody without further incident. Officers recovered the shotgun as well; a search of a serial number on the gun revealed it was not registered.
Godinez was booked into the Solano County jail on multiple felony violations, police said in a social media post Thursday afternoon.
“We are grateful for the officers' quick response, coordination and communication, which led to a safe apprehension of an armed suspect,” a police spokesperson wrote.
