Police in Suisun City arrested a Richmond man after a slow-speed pursuit on Highway 12 early Friday morning.
The incident unfolded just after 1 a.m. when a Suisun City police officer noticed a driver who was swerving between lanes.
The driver initially failed to stop when the officer tried to pull him over, and the officer continued following him for several blocks, according to dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
The motorist, identified by a source as Tyree Williams-Gomez, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. A search of his vehicle revealed an unregistered Glock firearm, an extended magazine with more than a dozen rounds and a clown mask.
“During the investigation, the driver was identified and determined to be a validated gang member with prior convictions and arrests for serious offenses,” a Suisun City Police Department spokesperson said in a press release posted on social media. “While searching the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded firearm on the front passenger floorboard of the vehicle.”
Williams-Gomez was booked into the Solano County Jail on numerous felony charges.
