Storm Watch: Snow spotted on Mount Vaca

Well, here’s something you don’t see every day.
Conditions were just right for a light dusting of snow that stuck to the ground atop Mount Vaca in rural Vacaville on Tuesday.
The snow came as rain showers moved through the region, part of an “atmospheric river” winter storm that has triggered several weather advisories, including a Flash Flood Watch.
On Tuesday, officials with the Solano County Office of Emergency Services issued an Evacuation Advisory for certain areas of the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire burn scar, telling residents and workers in that area to prepare for the possibility of evacuations.
Forecasters say brief periods of heavy rain and other participation could trigger debris slides, fallen trees and downed power lines in those areas.
The worst of the weather event for the Solano County region is likely to be experienced Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon, though sustained wind and rain continues for the rest of the week and could create weather-related issues for residents and drivers, especially in north Solano.
