Storm Watch: Resources for monitoring this week's atmospheric river event

The upcoming atmospheric river and bomb cyclone event is expected to bring strong wind and heavy rain to Northern California, including Solano County.
The severe weather event has the potential to trigger widespread power outages, roadway flooding, downed trees, property damage and injuries and loss of life.

Solano NewsNet, Alert Solano
Solano NewsNet will provide rolling updates on Twitter and urgent information on Facebook, Instagram, via e-mail (Substack) and on our website. Our real-time Facebook group, Solano NewsNet Live, has also been reactivated for residents and businesses in the county.
Additionally, the county’s emergency alert notification system, Alert Solano, is expected to provide updates on flooding, power outages, evacuation warnings and other critical messages by phone, text message and e-mai.
National Weather Service
The National Weather Service office in Sacramento is the federal climate agency that covers all of Solano County. Advisories, watches and warnings related to weather will be published by the NWS Sacramento office on their website, on Twitter and on Facebook.

Local Media
If you have an emergency radio, tune to KCBS 740 AM (or 106.9 FM in Vallejo and Benicia) for 24-hour news and information. The station is also available via the free Audacy app, or ask the Google Assistant or Siri to “Play K-C-B-S Seven Forty.”
Fox Weather can be streamed for free via the Fox Weather app for phones and on YouTube. A free, audio-only version of Fox Weather is available on TuneIn for those who lose power and who have low data connections on their mobile devices.
News from KOVR (Channel 13, CBS) in Sacramento and KPIX (Channel 5, CBS) in San Francisco streams for free on the Pluto TV app for smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming TV devices (Roku, Amazon Fire TV), game consoles and computers.
News from KPIX and KGO-TV (Channel 7, ABC) in San Francisco is also availale to stream for free on Comcast’s Xumo Play app for smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming TV devices and computers. Xumo Play is available without a Comcast subscription.
Newscasts and breaking news coverage from KCRA (Channel 3, NBC) and KXTV (Channel 10, ABC) in Sacramento and KTVU (Channel 2, Fox) in San Francisco are available to stream for free via the Tubi app.
Those with emergency weather radios and police scanners can tune to NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards in Sacramento at KEC57, 162.55 MHz.
Vacaville residents can tune to 530 AM for emergency information. The station is also available to stream online.
