The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued an Areal Flood Advisory for the Sacramento Valley, including all of Solano County.
The advisory was issued just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning after doppler radar used by the weather agency indicated heavy rainfall through the region.
“This will cause urban and small stream flooding,” meteorologists said.
An Areal Flood Advisory is issued when forecasters believe there is the possibility of widespread flooding throughout a region. Forecasters say flooding will be experienced in Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo and Benicia, though the extent of the flooding can’t be predicted.
In addition to flooding, meteorologists warn that ash flow in the area of the LNU Lightning Complex wildfire burn scar is possible overnight. That region, which covers rural parts of Fairfield, Vacaville and Winters, remains under a Flash Flood Watch.
The Areal Flood Advisory lasts until Wednesday at 7 a.m.
