Storm Watch: 69 MPH wind gust reported on Mount Vaca

The first significant rain band associated with the severe storm crossed through Solano County Wednesday evening, bringing with it heavy periods of rain and significant wind gusts.
A 69 miles per hour (MPH) gust was recorded just before 7 p.m. at Sky Ranch on Mount Vaca west of Vacaville, according to an interactive map provided by the National Weather Service. In Rio Vista, a 40 MPH wind gust was recorded around 5 p.m.
At the Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville, a half-inch of rain was recorded, with more rain expected throughout the evening. More than a third-inch of rain has fallen in other parts of the county, including Elmira and on Travis Air Force Base.
Emergency officials have already responded to a number of weather-related crashes throughout Solano County, including a car that spun out on the Travis Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 80 in Fairfield, and a sedan that drove into a ditch near the Leisure Town Road off-ramp in Vacaville.
Roadway flooding has been reported on some streets in north Solano County, including the Interstate 80 interchange to Interstate 505 and along Allison Drive between Browns Valley Parkway and East Monte Vista Avenue.
In Vallejo, hundreds of people are without power due to the storm, according to an outage map provided by Pacific Gas & Electric, including over 550 homes along Columbus Parkway south of Blue Ridge.
