The state’s healthcare agency is working with a private health provider to upgrade more than 140 COVID-19 testing sites throughout California in order to provide uninsured residents access to treatment options.
The list of 146 “Test-to-Treat” sites being upgraded by OptumServe include several in Solano County and nearby areas. Upgraded sites will offer both testing for the coronavirus and treatment options for those who test positive.
“We are working to ensure that Californians who have symptoms of COVID-19 have access to rapid testing and immediate treatment, regardless of health insurance,” Dr. Tomas Aragon, the California Department of Public Health director, said in a statement.
Health officials say getting a COVID-19 vaccine and booster is still the safest way to prevent symptoms associated with the coronavirus. For those who do have symptoms, COVID-19 treatments have been proven to lessen the effects of the virus and reduce the chances of hospitalization.
Official say testing and treatment will be free to Californians at locations that are served by OptumServe. Those locations include:
Optum Serve Vacaville (1681 East Monte Vista Avenue)
Optum Serve Vallejo (545 Magazine Street)
Other healthcare centers that are participating in the state’s Test-to-Treat initiative include:
Winters Healthcare Foundation (172 East Grant Avenue)
David Grant Medical Center (101 Bodin Circle, Travis AFB; military only)
A Test-to-Treat locator map offers residents the ability to look up the nearest provider in their area. To use the locator map, click or tap here.
