A driver was cited for speeding after crashing into two trucks along Interstate 80 near Vacaville on Tuesday.
Around 11 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a sedan speeding along west-bound lanes of the freeway.
The sedan, a Dodge Avenger, collided with a FedEx delivery truck, then veered into the shoulder where it crashed into an unoccupied Caltrans maintenance truck, CHP officials said in a statement.
The driver and a passenger inside the Dodge were treated for moderate injuries, police said. No one else was injured.
“Please drive safe and obey the speed limit,” the CHP said.
