A Solano County educator was recognized by a state association this month with the honor of Career Technical Education Administrator of the Year.
Susan Labrecque with the Solano County Office of Education received the honor last week, according to a press release sent to reporters.
Labrecque has worked with the county’s education office since 1995 when she joined as a vocational specialist. Her initial work involved supporting students with different abilities in securing both educational and employment opportunities. She is now the director of the resource development and transitional services within the office.
The award was given by the Association of California School Administrators, an advocacy firm that represents thousands of educators across more than a dozen regions in California.
The group said the award given to Labreque “honors individuals for their significant contributions to education through outstanding performance and achievements.”
“Her expertise and leadership have been instrumental in securing consistent funding for services and for creating increasing opportunities for Solano County students,” the group said. “Her reputation for excellence, accountability and transparency has been instrumental in establishing a rich network of partnerships within Solano County and throughout the state.”
In addition to her work with the county, Labrecque serves in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
