Officers with the California Highway Patrol’s Solano County helped their law enforcement counterparts locate an adult kidnapping victim earlier this week.
On Tuesday, police in San Jose issued an alert to law enforcement partners throughout Northern California urging them to be on the lookout for a vehicle connected to an alleged kidnapping.
Officers received information that an adult female had been taken against her will, and that the kidnapping suspects were taking her from San Jose to the Sacramento area.
Early Wednesday morning, a team of California Highway Patrol officers in Solano County spotted the vehicle along Interstate 80 near Midway Road just outside of Vacaville. The officers pulled the vehicle over and rescued the kidnapping victim.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene. Both the suspect and the victim were not identified in a public release posted to Facebook on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the CHP said the kidnapping victim was transported to a safe location and reunited with her family.
