Smoke seen across Solano, Yolo counties from fire in Sonoma County

A 90-acre fire that is part of a prescribed burn in Sonoma County sent smoke and haze into parts of Solano and Yolo counties early Wednesday evening.
The fire is burning along Highway 121 and Mangel Ranch Road near the Sonoma County raceway, about 15 minutes west of Vallejo.
Firefighters are burning several types of vegetation, including grass that is considered invasive to the region. Prescribed burns help reduce the likelihood of a spontaneous or accidental fire event.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene of the burn throughout the night as a precaution.
Local public safety officials warn residents of Solano and Yolo counties could see haze and smell burning vegetation throughout the evening. Officials are urging residents not to call 9-1-1 about the haze or smoke, unless they see an actual fire or other type of emergency.
